Our graphic designer prefers .ai, .pdf, and .eps file formats, although .psd, .png, and .jpg are also acceptable. For optimal print quality, we recommend submitting .ai or .pdf files. Unacceptable formats include .DOC, .BMP, .WebP, and PowerPoint files.

No. However, because white is the default color of our paper, it is simply recognized as the absence of any ink. Designs without any color will show the paper’s white as the background.

RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is used in digital displays, while CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is used for printing. The distinction is crucial as RGB can create colors that may not be accurately reproduced in print. Converting images from RGB to CMYK ensures better color consistency in print materials.

In short, printers and monitors produce colors differently. Monitors use the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color model, which usually supports a wider spectrum of colors. Professional printers use the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) color model, which can reproduce most—but not all—of the colors in the RGB color model. CMYK generally matches 85–90% of the colors in the RGB model.

When a color is selected from the RGB model that is out of the range of the CMYK model, most graphic design applications convert colors from RGB to CMYK with the closest colors that will match and print on a printing press. Programs like Adobe Photoshop will allow you to choose which color will be replaced. Others may not.

Because the ink and toner mediums differ, the printed piece may have a slightly different result. Even though both types of printing use CMYK, the rasterization processes are different, which causes color variations. In addition, if the file contains RGB elements, the different methods will produce varying results.
